A portable EV charger gives you another charging option when your usual charger is unavailable. You can keep it in the car for occasional use, take it between locations or choose a higher-power model for regular charging where a suitable power connection is available.
The right choice depends on what matters most to you: compact backup charging or higher-power portable charging.
Why Buy a Portable EV Charger?
Keep a backup with your vehicle. A portable charger provides an additional option when your normal charging arrangements change. It is useful where a suitable outlet is available; it does not store energy like a power bank.
Take your charger between locations. If you divide your time between properties or travel to places with suitable charging outlets, you can bring the same charger with you.
Keep a second charging option. A portable unit can complement your wall charger, giving you equipment to carry while your fixed charger remains at home.
Choose portability to suit your routine. Some drivers need a compact unit for occasional top-ups. Others want higher charging power in equipment they can take with them.
EVTRIX BN21: Compact Backup Charging
The EVTRIX BN21 is designed for emergency backup and occasional charging. Its compact format makes it an option to keep in the vehicle for times when access to a suitable outlet provides a useful top-up.
A colour display provides charging information, and adjustable current settings offer control within the limits of the supplied configuration.
Choose BN21 if your priority is a compact backup charger for occasional use.
EVTRIX BN70: Up to 22kW, Portable
The EVTRIX BN70 offers up to 22kW AC charging for drivers who want higher-power portable charging.
It combines Bluetooth app control, an LCD and a 5m Type 2 cable, giving you charging controls and a visible session display in a portable unit. BN70 is ECAS compliant and has an IP66 protection rating.
Its maximum 22kW output requires a suitable 32A three-phase connection and a vehicle that accepts 22kW AC. Actual charging power remains limited by the vehicle and available supply.
Choose BN70 if you have access to a suitable three-phase connection and want higher-power charging in a portable format.
Which Portable Charger Fits Your Needs?
Choose BN21 for compact backup and occasional top-ups. Choose BN70 for higher-power portable charging, app control and a Type 2 connection.
